About Guwahati Airport:


Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is also known as Guwahati International Airport. The Airport is the only international airport in the North-Eastern States of India located in Borjhar, in Guwahati Assam. Guwahati International Airport was named after a prominent freedom fighter named Gopinath Bordoloi. The Airport provides connectivity with major Indian cities, including Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Kolkata. The airport is managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and also serves as an Indian Air Force base. The Airport has a 2,743m-long and 46m-wide runway.
The terminal building at the airport has a maximum handling capacity of 850 arrival/departure passengers an hour. The interiors of the integrated terminal will resemble the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of Assam. The Terminal also resembles green areas, an internal forest theme, bamboo artifacts, and a craft village. Guwahati Airport is a hub for domestic flights to North-East India. Helicopter services are operated from Guwahati to Shillong, Tura, Naharlagun, and Tawang by Pawan Hans.
