Gaya Airport is located in is a public airport serving Gaya, Bihar, India. Gaya Airport also known as Bodhgaya Airport it is an international airport. Gaya Airport is spread over an area of 954 acres. This airport is 5 kilometers away from the temple city of Bodhgaya which is Gautama Buddha's place of learning. The Airport is the second busiest airport in the state, next only to Patna, this airport witnessed heavy traffic due to a large number of devotes flying in and out of Gaya throughout the year. The terminal building is divided into domestic and international sides which can house 100 and 400 passengers during peak hours. The Airport has a 7,500 ft long runway. This airport is mainly seasonal and primarily caters to Buddhist tourists coming from southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, etc. The main airlines operating at the airport are Air India, Thai Airways, Mihin Lanka, Jet Airways, and SriLankan Airlines. The Airports Authority of India AAI plans to develop the airport as a standby to the Kolkata Airport.

Currently, the Gaya Airport has two terminals that operate domestic and international flights:

Terminal 1
The domestic terminal of the Gaya Airport serves a large number of passengers and well maintained by the authority. There are numbers of domestic flights that run from here on a regular basis connecting the city with all the major cities of the country.

Terminal 2
The second terminal is for international passengers and throughout the day. The numbers of flights arrive and depart from here connecting the city with the major Asian countries including Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. The terminal can handle 100 and 400 passengers during peak hours. One can get this facility to reach the place without any difficulty.

Stationery, chemist, bookstall and various other shops increase the charm of the airport and the passengers get the essential things there at the airport itself. There are several eateries, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and other stores are there within the airport premises from where one can get snacks and food to eat. About Place:

Bodh Gaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage associated with the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in the Gaya district in the Indian state of Bihar. The City is famous as it is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Bodhimandala under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. For Buddhists, Bodh Gaya is the most important of the main four pilgrimage sites related to the life of Gautama Buddha. Gaya has several libraries and several colleges affiliated with Magadh University. It is the place where Rama, with Sita and Lakshmana, came to offer pind-daan for their father, Dasharath, and continues to be a major Hindu pilgrimage site for the pind-daan ritual. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, consists of the temple, Bodhi Tree, and six other sacred spots.
