Raja Bhoj International Airport  is located in Gandhi Nagar area  of Bhopal city center. The airport is named after Raja Bhoj, belonging to the Paramara dynasty. Raja Bhoj International Airport is a domestic as well as international airport serving Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The Bhopal Airport is the second-largest airport of Madhya Pradesh.

The Airport has the capacity of handling 700 passengers in a peak hour and the Airport has 2,744 metres long runway. The first direct international flight from Bhopal was to Jeddah for Hajj. The airport became the first airport in the state to use solar power for running its utility grid system. The airport is equipped with night landing facilities, an Instrument Landing System and CAT VII fire services.

The Airport operates under Airport Authority of India (AAI). There are many airlines operate in Raja Bhoj International Airport which is Air India, Jet Konnect, Indigo, Spicejet  and Saudia. Air India and Saudia flights from this Airport to 

Jeddah during hajj seasons.The Airport has all the facilities for passengers which includes T.R. Stall, Bank ATM, Post office, Hotel Booking Counter and Tourist Information Counter.

Integrated Terminal- The new integrated terminal building was inaugurated on June 28 2011 by the then Civil Aviation minister, Vayalar Ravi.The terminal building of Bhopal covers an area of 26935 square meters. The Bhopal Airport a single passenger terminal whichoperates both domestic and international flights. The terminal has 14 check-in counters, four immigration counters for departures and 6 immigration counters for arrival. It also has two customs counters, each for arrival and departure, and six X-ray machines for security.

Traveling to Bhopal is easy as the city is connected to rest of the country by budget airlines. There are direct flights from Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and various other parts of the country that regularly fly to Bhopal.

General taxi services are the main choice to/from the city center. The distance between the Bhopal bus station and the Raja Bhoj Airport is about 13 km. You will easily find a private cab from the bus station which will approximately take 20 minutes to reach the airport. The airport is approximately 19 km away from the railways station and it will take hardly 30 minutes to reach the airport.

At the airport terminal, you will able to get a taxi to the bus station/railway station and city center.

perfect to visit because of cool weather.

Monsoon months are the second best time to visit the city after lowered temperatures and 

cool showers.

The summer months from April to June and May are hot and dry. This isn't a good time to visit the city.
