About Airport:

Bagdogra Airport is located in the city of Siliguri in the Darjeeling district in northern West Bengal, India. Bagdogra Airport is is an international airport  which handles both domestic and international flights. The Airport is the 17th busiest Airport in india and it is controlled by Indian Airforce but also allows the civilian flights to operate. Regular helicopter flights from Gangtok too are available along with the permits which foreign tourists require in order to enter Sikkim. It is operated as a civil enclave at AFS Bagdogra of the Indian Air Force.

The Airport is a gateway to many tourist destinations in North Bengal and Sikkim for both domestic and international passengers. The airport is a major stop in the region with flights connecting Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Guwahati. Currently there are 8 airlines operate in Bagdogra Airport which is Air India, Go Air, Indigo, Spice Jet and Vistara. Druk Air flight from here to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Paro International Airport in Bhutan.

Terminal 1: The terminal 1 of Bagdogra Airport is used for handling Domestic flights. There are 2 hand baggage check-in counters with 2 registered check-in counters and 1 cargo check. Terminal 2: The terminal 2 of Bagdogra Airport is used for handling International flights. The Sikkim counter provides tourism information and free brochures for the whole of Sikkim including Gangtok. At the airport terminal, you will able to get a taxi to the bus station/railway station and city center.

Airport Taxi also provide service from the airport to different parts of the city. The airport to Siliguri is approximately 16 km currently there are no city bus service from airport to Siliguri. Bagdogra Airport to Siliguri Railway Station is approximately 17 km. One can easily hire taxis to reach the airport from the railway station.

July to October constitute the monsoon season in Bagdogra.
