About Airport:

Trivandrum International Airport is in Thiruvananthapuram and is the first airport in the state of Kerala, India.
The Airport is located at a short distance from Thiruvananthapuram, and it was the fifth international airport of 
India was declared by then Prime Minister Shri V.P. Singh in 1991. The Trivandrum International Airport is the second-largest and second busiest airport in Kerala after Cochin International Airport. Trivandrum Airport also caters to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Coast Guard along with Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology which carries out pilot training activities. There are a total of 3 terminals at the Thiruvananthapuram airport out of which only 
2 are operational. The Trivandrum airport provides visa-on-arrival facility to 11 countries - Japan, Singapore, Finland, 
Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Indonesia. International operations were initiated by the then Indian Airlines to cities in the Middle East in the early 1980s. Later, SriLankan Airlines and Air

Terminals Guide:

There are a total of 3 terminals at the Thiruvananthapuram airport out of which only 
2 are operational:

Terminal 1
Terminal 1 handles domestic flights. The domestic terminal has an area of 99,000 sq ft and can handle 400 passengers at a time. 
The domestic terminal has basic amenities including cafés, a book-seller, duty-free shopping, free local calls, phone-recharging points.
Air India flights aren’t served by Terminal 1. Parking facilities are available at both terminals of the airport. Air India, SpiceJet, 
IndiGo and Jet Airways are among the major domestic flight operators.

Terminal 2
Terminal 2 for international flights. The international terminal at the Thiruvananthapuram airport has the capacity to handle 1,600 passengers at a time. The international terminal ground operations are handled by Air India and Bhadra Ground Handling services Ltd. It is fully air-conditioned 
with WIFI facility. The terminal features spacious lounges, natural lighting with extensive use of glass roofing, and better conveyance facilities for passengers. It has three baggage carousels and elaborate immigration/customs facilities. Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, 
Maldivian, Oman Air, Qatar Airways, SilkAir, SriLankan Airways, and Tigerair are some of the international flight booking operators which offer services to 
Trivandrum.

Trivandrum International Airport has located a short distance from Thiruvananthapuram. The Trivandrum 
International Airport is the second-largest and second busiest airport in Kerala after Cochin International 
Airport. Trivandrum airport located at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent serves as the shortest reaching point from India to Sri Lanka and the Maldives and thus the preferred airport for international tourists. There is no railway service or subway service to Thiruvananthapuram Airport. There are train connections in Thiruvananthapuram to other cities in India. There is a city bus service from the Airport into Thiruvananthapuram. KSRTC Bus No. 14 runs from outside the International Terminal to the city bus terminal at East Fort, near the Padmanabhaswamy temple. The airport
also has a prepaid taxi desk in the baggage claim area with fares listed to various destinations.

Trivandrum Weather:

Winter (October - February)-
The winters are the best time to visit Trivandrum as the weather is cold and pleasant. 

Monsoon (July - September)-
The monsoons are relatively cooler than the summers. Trivandrum also experiences  rainfall 
in early monsoon season in June, July, and August.

Summer (March - June)- 
This is not an advisable time to visit the city as the extreme humidity can affect your sightseeing plans.
